RIC-8A Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects RIC-8A of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RIC-8A Antibody (C-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RIC-8A, also known as resistance to inhibitors of cholinesterase 8 homolog A, is a 530 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by functioning as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor. RIC-8A activates several G-alpha proteins, including Gα i-1, Gα q, and Gα o, by facilitating the exchange of GDP for GTP, thus toggling these proteins between their active and inactive states. This activation is vital for regulating mitotic movement and may influence receptor-mediated extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) activation, which is essential for various cellular processes such as growth, differentiation, and survival. RIC-8A is expressed in three isoforms due to alternative splicing, highlighting its functional diversity and importance in cellular signaling pathways.
