RIC-3 Antibody (G-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects RIC-3 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RIC-3 (G-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RIC-3, known as resistant to inhibitors of cholinesterase-3, serves as the mammalian homolog of the ric-3 protein found in Caenorhabditis elegans. RIC-3 is characterized by two transmembrane domains and a coiled-coil domain, and predominantly expresses in neurons, where RIC-3 localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum. This localization is crucial as RIC-3 plays a significant role in the folding and assembly of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs), enhancing the stability and surface expression of various nAChR subtypes and some 5-HT3 receptors. RIC-3′s ability to facilitate proper receptor assembly underscores its importance as a regulator of receptor expression, which is vital for neurotransmission and synaptic plasticity. Multiple isoforms of RIC-3 exist, each exhibiting distinct localization patterns and potentially varying effects on receptor expression, further highlighting RIC-3′s complexity and significance in neuronal function.

Thank you for your question. Yes, RIC-3 (G-8): sc-377408 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections.
