SEE ALSO...

Ribophorin II Antibody (A-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Ribophorin II (RPN2) of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-RPN2 antibody (A-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RPN2 plays a crucial role in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) by being an integral component of the oligosaccharyltransferase (OST) complex, which is essential for the cotranslational N-glycosylation of newly synthesized polypeptides. This process is vital for proper protein folding, stability, and function, as glycosylation can influence protein interactions, localization, and degradation. RPN2 is specifically localized to the rough ER, where RPN2 facilitates the transfer of oligosaccharides to nascent polypeptides, ensuring proteins are correctly modified before proceeding to their functional destinations within the cell. Understanding RPN2 function and interactions within the OST complex is important for elucidating the mechanisms of protein maturation and the overall health of cellular processes.
