RIA1 Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects RIA1 protein of human origin and Eftud1 protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RIA1 (C-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RIA1 protein, also known as EFTUD1 or FAM42A, is a crucial component of the ribosome assembly process, consisting of 1,120 amino acids and existing in three alternatively spliced isoforms. RIA1 plays a vital role in the biogenesis of ribosomes, which are essential for protein synthesis in all living cells. Proper ribosome assembly is critical for cellular function, as defects in this process can lead to a variety of diseases, including certain genetic disorders and cancers. RIA1 gene is located on human chromosome 15, a region associated with several syndromes, including Angelman and Prader-Willi syndromes, which arise from deletions or mutations affecting genes in this area. Understanding RIA1 function and importance not only sheds light on fundamental cellular processes but also highlights potential implications in human health and disease.
