RhAG Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects RhAG protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RhAG (D-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RhAG plays a crucial role in the transport of ammonium across the red blood cell membrane, which is vital for maintaining acid-base balance and proper cellular function. RhAG is part of a complex that includes D-subunits and CE-subunits, functioning as a significant interaction site between the membrane lipid bilayer and the cytoskeleton of red blood cells through its interaction with ankyrin-R. Mutations affecting RhAG transmembrane domain can lead to the rare Rh(null) disorder, characterized by the absence of Rh antigens and associated hemolytic anemia. Understanding RhAG function and interactions helps elucidate the mechanisms underlying red blood cell physiology and related disorders. RhAG is also known as CD241.
