SEE ALSO...

RGS2 Antibody (BC-43) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects RGS2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RGS2 (BC-43) antibody is available as a non-conjugated format. RGS2 protein plays a crucial role in regulating G protein signaling pathways, specifically acting as a GTPase-activating protein (GAP) for Gαq, which is vital for modulating various physiological processes, including cardiovascular function and neuronal signaling. By accelerating GTP hydrolysis to GDP, RGS2 effectively inhibits Gαq activity, thereby influencing downstream signaling cascades that affect cell proliferation, differentiation, and response to external stimuli. Precise regulation of G protein signaling by RGS2 is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing pathological conditions such as hypertension and heart disease. Through specific interactions with Gα isoforms, RGS2 serves as a key player in cellular signaling networks, making anti-RGS2 antibody (BC-43) an invaluable tool for researchers studying G protein-coupled receptor signaling and its implications in health and disease.

Can sc-100761: RGS2 (BC-43) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100761: RGS2 (BC-43) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
