RGS16 Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects RGS16 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RGS16 (A-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RGS16 protein plays a crucial role in regulating G-protein signaling pathways, particularly in the retina, where RGS16 is expressed at high levels. RGS16 protein is essential for modulating the duration and intensity of signaling initiated by G protein-coupled receptors, acting as a GTPase-activating protein that accelerates GTP hydrolysis on activated Gα subunits. By shortening the lifespan of active G protein, RGS16 fine-tunes the signaling cascade vital for processes such as phototransduction. RGS16 gene is located on human chromosome 1q25-q31, and proper RGS16 function is critical for maintaining the balance of signaling pathways that influence cellular responses to external stimuli.
