SEE ALSO...

Rfp2 Antibody (E-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the Rfp2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Rfp2 antibody (E-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Rfp2, also known as TRIM13, is a member of the tripartite motif (TRIM) family, characterized by a conserved TRIM domain that includes a coiled-coil region, a B box-type zinc finger, and a RING finger, which are crucial for its function as an E3 ubiquitin ligase. Rfp2 plays a significant role in the regulation of protein degradation pathways, particularly in the endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation (ERAD) pathway, which is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis by eliminating misfolded proteins. Rfp2 is also implicated in tumor suppression, and mutations in Rfp2 have been associated with the development and progression of B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Two alternatively spliced isoforms, alpha and beta, further highlight the complexity of Rfp2′s regulatory functions within the cell.

Can I use this antibody to detect mRUBY2 tagged proteins for western blot?

Asked by: suzy
Thank you for your question. Rfp2 Antibody (E-6) is only recommended for detection of Rfp2 of human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA. Tagged Rfp2 fusion proteins may not be recognized by this antibody.

What blocking solution should I use with Rfp2 (E-6): sc-393257 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
