SEE ALSO...

Resistin Antibody (C-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects resistin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-resistin antibody (C-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Resistin, also known as adipose-derived secretory factor (ADSF), plays a crucial role in linking obesity to insulin resistance and diabetes, making resistin a significant target for research in metabolic disorders. Resistin is primarily secreted by adipose tissue and is characterized by a unique cysteine-rich structure, which includes a distinctive cysteine repeat motif essential for biological activity. This unique structure influences resistin′s interaction with other proteins and receptors, thereby modulating various signaling pathways involved in inflammation and metabolism. Resistin-like molecules, which share similar structural features, have been identified, with resistin-like α being predominantly expressed in adipose tissue and resistin-like β found in the gastrointestinal tract, particularly in the colon. Resistin-like β expression is notably elevated in proliferative epithelial cells and tumors, suggesting a potential role in intestinal proliferation and cancer biology.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-376336 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
