Rent2 Antibody (H-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Rent2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Rent2, also known as the mammalian homolog of Upf2p, plays a crucial role in the nonsense-mediated RNA decay (NMD) pathway, which maintains cellular integrity by preventing the accumulation of faulty mRNA transcripts that could lead to truncated or malfunctioning proteins. Rent2 is primarily localized in the cytoplasm, where Rent2 interacts with other key components of the NMD machinery, including Rent1 and Rent3 proteins, to facilitate the degradation of defective mRNA. This localization enables Rent2 to effectively participate in the surveillance and quality control of mRNA, ensuring that only properly processed transcripts are translated into functional proteins. Rent2′s ability to bind RNA and interact with ATP further underscores Rent2′s importance in regulating gene expression and maintaining cellular homeostasis. Anti-Rent2 antibody (H-4) helps researchers gain insights into the dynamics of RNA processing and the implications of NMD in various biological contexts, including development and disease.
