REDD-1 Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects REDD-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). REDD-1 (B-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. REDD-1, also known as DNA-damage-inducible transcript 4, dig2, or RTP801, plays a critical role in regulating reactive oxygen species (ROS), which are essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and signaling. REDD-1 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and translocates to the nucleus under stress conditions, where REDD-1 can influence gene expression related to apoptosis and cellular stress responses. This localization enables REDD-1 to act as a mediator between cellular stress signals and downstream effects on cell survival and metabolism. As a hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF-1) responsive gene, REDD-1 shows strong upregulation in ischemic neuronal cells, underscoring REDD-1′s importance in the pathogenesis of ischemic diseases. REDD-1 negatively regulates the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), a key serine/threonine kinase that integrates various extracellular and intracellular signals, making REDD-1 vital for cellular growth and metabolism. REDD-1 absence has been linked to retinopathy development, a leading cause of blindness, highlighting REDD-1′s potential as a therapeutic target in related diseases.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dubious result in WBAntibody detects a band around 43 kDa, but this band runs too high to be REDD-1. REDD-1 is expected to be around 28-30 kDa within this range using antibodies from other companies. I cannot believe that this antibody really detects REDD-1.
