    REDD-1 Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects REDD-1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). REDD-1 (A-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. REDD-1, also known as DNA Damage Inducible Transcript 4, plays a crucial role in cellular response to stress, particularly in regulating reactive oxygen species (ROS). By modulating ROS levels, REDD-1 is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing oxidative damage, which can lead to apoptosis and contribute to pathogenesis of ischemic diseases. Notably, REDD-1 is an HIF-1-responsive gene significantly upregulated in hypoxic conditions, particularly in neuronal cells, highlighting REDD-1′s importance in adaptive responses to low oxygen levels. This makes REDD-1 a valuable target for research into neuroprotection and ischemic injury, as well as a potential biomarker for various diseases associated with oxidative stress.

    I am using REDD-1 (A-4): sc-271158 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unspecific in WBAntibody detects three bands very well and two futher bands with less intensity - an unspecific antibody. It is hard to tell which oof the two lower bands is REDD-1 (expected size of REDD-1 is 28-30 kDa).
