    SEE ALSO...

RD3 Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects RD3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RD3 (A-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RD3, also known as retinal degeneration 3 or LCA12, is a crucial 195 amino acid protein predominantly expressed in the retina, where RD3 plays a significant role in the maintenance and development of photoreceptors. RD3 is believed to be part of subnuclear protein complexes that are essential for transcription and splicing processes, which are vital for proper gene expression and cellular function. Mutations in the gene encoding RD3 are linked to Leber congenital amaurosis type 12, a severe genetic disorder that leads to significant visual impairment or blindness in infants due to the loss of retinal photoreceptor function. Understanding RD3 function and interactions is critical for elucidating the underlying mechanisms of retinal diseases and developing potential therapeutic strategies.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-390653 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
