RCAN2/3 Antibody (F-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects RCAN2/3 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-RCAN2/3 antibody (F-7) is available as the non-conjugated form. RCAN2, also known as Calcipressin-2 or thyroid hormone-responsive protein ZAKI-4, consists of 197 amino acids and belongs to the RCAN family, which plays a crucial role in regulating calcineurin-dependent signaling pathways. Such regulation influences various physiological processes, including immune responses and neuronal development. RCAN2 functions as an inhibitor of calcineurin by binding to its catalytic domain, thereby modulating transcriptional responses vital during central nervous system development. RCAN2 is constitutively expressed in endothelial cells and inhibits calcineurin activity similarly to DSCR1 (Down syndrome candidate region 1), which helps restrain vascular endothelial growth factor-mediated angiogenesis. Physiological concentrations of triiodothyroxine notably upregulate RCAN2 expression, highlighting RCAN2′s role in thyroid hormone signaling. RCAN3, also known as Calcipressin-3, DSCR1L2, or MCIP3, is a 241 amino acid protein that interacts with calcineurin and contributes to central nervous system development. RCAN3 shows low expression in various tissues but maintains high expression in kidney, heart, liver, peripheral blood lymphocytes, and skeletal muscle, suggesting a significant role in these organs, particularly in cardiac contraction events through interaction with cardiac troponin I.
