RASAL2 Antibody (B-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects RASAL2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-RASAL2 antibody (B-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RASAL2, also known as Ras protein activator like 2 or nGAP, plays a crucial role in regulating the Ras signaling pathway, which is vital for cell growth, differentiation, and survival. RASAL2 functions as a GTPase-activating protein (GAP), facilitating the hydrolysis of GTP to GDP, thereby promoting the inactivation of Ras proteins. This regulatory mechanism is essential because aberrations in Ras signaling are often implicated in various cancers, including prostate cancer, where RASAL2 gene is located on chromosome 1 within a susceptibility locus. The presence of a C2 domain, a PH domain, and a Ras-GAP domain in RASAL2 underscores its structural complexity and functional significance in cellular signaling. Alternative splicing of RASAL2 gene results in two transcript variants, which may contribute to diverse regulatory roles in different cellular contexts.
