RANTES Antibody (F-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects RANTES protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RANTES Antibody (F-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RANTES, also known as C-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 5, plays a crucial role in immune response by acting as a potent chemoattractant for monocytes and natural killer cells, which is vital for orchestrating inflammation and immune surveillance. RANTES is primarily expressed by immune cells such as T lymphocytes, eosinophils, and macrophages, as well as by platelets and endothelial cells, highlighting RANTES importance in both innate and adaptive immunity. RANTES ability to recruit immune cells to sites of inflammation underscores RANTES potential as a therapeutic target in various inflammatory diseases. Additionally, RANTES is characterized by a unique structure that includes a set of conserved cysteine residues, which is a hallmark of the C-C chemokine family, further emphasizing RANTES functional significance in mediating cell signaling and migration.

As described below question, I also got a band only above 25kDa instead of 8kDa on cell lysate. Is the 25kDa band derived from RANTES?

I ran 20ug of cell lysates from Beas2b and probed with this antibody in the ratio 1:1000 but I got a band only above 25kDa instead of 8kDa. But in your data sheet the band shows 6kDa.Will this antibody detects any precursor? What would u suggest me to do?

Asked by: karti
Thank you for your question. We are not aware of any form of RANTES that would be expected to be observed at a molecular weight above 25 kDa. We would recommend increasing both the amount of protein you are loading, as well as the concentration of primary antibody. For the data shown on our website, we load 50 µg of human platelet extract, and the primary antibody was used at a dilution of 1:200. A link to our recommended Western blotting protocol with this antibody is provided below. https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting If you still do not observe the expected size of RANTES, please contact our Technical Service Department and we can assist you with troubleshooting the antibody.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with RANTES (F-11): sc-514019?

Asked by: Cweed
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good antibody as expectedI received this sample antibody from santacruz, but it did not work for me. I used 1: 1000 and 1:500 dilution of antibody and checked them on Beas2b and NHBE cell lysate. But I couldn't see a band less than 10kDa but Im getting a single nice band around 25kDa.
