RACK1 Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that specifically targets amino acids 131-317 of RACK1, also known as Receptor for Activated C Kinase 1, and GNB2L1. RACK1 is a 317-amino-acid multifunctional scaffold protein resembling the G protein β subunit, playing a crucial role in various cellular processes such as cell growth, differentiation, and signal transduction. RACK1 functions as an anchoring protein for activated Protein Kinase C (PKC), facilitating PKC′s translocation and interaction with substrates, an essential process for regulating signaling pathways that control gene expression, hormone secretion, and membrane functions. By inhibiting Src tyrosine kinases and interacting with numerous signaling molecules, RACK1 modulates pathways important for cell adhesion, migration, and proliferation, making RACK1 significant in studies of cancer and other diseases. Anti-RACK1 antibody (B-3) reacts with RACK1 from mouse, rat, human, and additional species including equine, canine, bovine, porcine, and avian, and is recommended for use in western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). RACK1′s role as a scaffold protein is vital for coordinating multiple signaling pathways, and RACK1′s conservation across diverse species underscores RACK1′s importance in fundamental cellular functions. Notably, deficits in RACK1 may be associated with impaired PKC activation in the aging brain, highlighting RACK1′s relevance in neurological studies. Therefore, RACK1 (B-3) antibody provides a valuable tool for advancing research in critical cellular mechanisms and exploring potential therapeutic targets, aiding in the understanding of diseases where RACK1 is implicated.
