Datasheets
  • Rab 5C Antibody (D-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ, cited in 1 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 186-216 at the C-terminus of Rab 5C of human origin
  • recommended for detection of Rab 5C of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA; also reactive with additional species, including and equine, bovine and porcine
  • See Rab 5 (D-11): sc-46692 for Rab 5C antibody conjugates, including AC, HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488, 594, 647, 680 and 790.
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP and m-IgG1 BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for Rab 5C Antibody (D-6) for WB applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with Rab 5C Antibody (D-6) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

Rab 5C Antibody (D-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Rab 5C in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Rab 5C plays a crucial role in the early stages of endocytosis and is essential for the transport of vesicles within cells, particularly in the movement of carrier vesicles from the plasma membrane to early endosomes. Rab 5C is primarily located on the cytoplasmic side of the membrane of early endosomes, where Rab 5C regulates the fusion of vesicles and the sorting of endocytosed materials. Proper functioning of Rab 5C is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and facilitating nutrient uptake, as well as for the recycling of membrane proteins. Dysregulation of Rab 5C has been implicated in various diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders, highlighting Rab 5C′s importance in cellular transport mechanisms. anti-Rab 5C antibody (D-6) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying vesicular trafficking and the molecular pathways involved in endocytosis, providing insights into the dynamic processes that govern cellular function.

Hi, I am looking for the anti-Rab5c antibody. Protein of my interest i.e XP_014048348.1 has 90% identity to given protein for the human Rab5c. I was wonderning if I can use this antibody for protein of my interest. What would you suggest?

Asked by: Anep
Thank you for your question. There is not significant sequence identity shared between this antibody’s antigen and the predicted protein sequence you provided so we would not expect cross-reactivity. One possible alternative antibody, Rab 5 Antibody (D-11): sc-46692, is raised against amino acids 1-215 full length Rab 5A. There is 83% sequence identity shared with the predicted protein sequence you provided. This is significant, and the antibody may be able to detect the protein in your Salmon samples. However, since this is a monoclonal antibody, the alignment would need to be 100% for us to be guarantee reactivity.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-374041 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
