Rab 1 Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Rab 1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Rab 1 antibody (E-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Rab 1 protein plays a crucial role in intracellular transport, particularly in vesicle movement between the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus, which is essential for proper protein secretion. This transport process maintains cellular function and homeostasis by ensuring proteins are correctly modified and delivered to intended destinations. Rab proteins regulate exocytosis, where vesicles fuse with the plasma membrane to release contents outside the cell. Rab 1′s specificity in various stages of membrane transport pathways highlights importance in cellular logistics, making Rab 1 a key player in both endocytosis and biosynthetic transport. Through interactions with specific proteins involved in these processes, Rab 1 is integral to understanding mechanisms of cellular communication and protein trafficking.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The signal is good but could not solve the problemThe HAP-1 cells have both Rab1A and Rab1B proteins. We have two cell lines with deleted either Rab1A or Rab1B and we need to check the deletions. There is good antibody for Rab1A and Santa Cruz use to have antibody for Rab1B (rabbit). Unfortunately, this antibody did not work for me. You can see signal, but you cannot make any conclusion about Rab1B deletion whereas G-10 antibody gives clear result for Rab1A.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Apparently not ideal for J774A.1 cellsStained J774A.1 cells with sc-515308 followed by a green secondary antibody; got dim diffuse fluorescence, but could not confirm that it was staining the right subcellular compartment. Fortunately, this was one of a set of free samples from Santa Cruz Biotechnology, so no harm done.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as effective as polyclonal antibody in WBI tested the titration of a sample monoclonal Rab1 antibody and compared with that of polyclonal Rab1b antibody, it gave a much weaker signal in WB.
