PXR Antibody (H-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects PXR in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PXR (H-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The Pregnane X Receptor (PXR) plays a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression by acting as a sensor for a wide range of endogenous and exogenous compounds, including steroids and drugs. Located primarily in the nucleus, PXR functions as a transcription factor that, upon binding to ligands, forms a heterodimer with retinoid X receptor (RXR) and subsequently binds to specific DNA sequences to modulate the expression of target genes involved in drug metabolism and transport. This localization enables PXR to directly influence cellular response to various substances, thereby playing a significant role in pharmacogenomics and the body′s ability to process medications. PXR exists in two isoforms, PXR.1 and PXR.2, which may have distinct regulatory functions, further emphasizing PXR′s importance in mediating the effects of synthetic glucocorticoids and other compounds that do not operate through classical glucocorticoid receptor pathways.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-48340 X be used instead of the standard form sc-48340?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
