Ptx3 Antibody (C-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Ptx3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Ptx3 antibody (C-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Ptx3, also known as tumor necrosis factor-stimulated gene sequence-14 (TSG14), plays a crucial role as a secreted pattern-recognition receptor, which is essential for the immune response against specific microbial agents. Ptx3 is classified within the "long pentraxins" family, characterized by its unique cyclic multimeric structure and the presence of C-terminal pentraxin domains along with novel amino-terminal domains. Ptx3 is synthesized in response to inflammatory stimuli, such as in IgA glomerulonephritis, and activates mesangial cells, thereby amplifying inflammatory reactions and regulating innate immunity. Ptx3 binds to various pathogens, including Aspergillus fumigatus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Salmonella typhimurium, highlighting its importance in host defense mechanisms. The human PTX3 gene is located on chromosome 3q25, further emphasizing its relevance in both health and disease.
