SEE ALSO...

PSR Antibody (H-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PSR protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PSR antibody (H-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The phosphatidylserine receptor (PSR) plays a crucial role in the recognition and clearance of apoptotic cells, as PSR specifically binds to phosphatidylserine, which becomes exposed on the outer membrane of cells undergoing apoptosis. This interaction is vital for the phagocytosis of dying cells by macrophages and dendritic cells, thereby preventing inflammation and maintaining tissue homeostasis. PSR is predominantly expressed on the surface of macrophages, fibroblasts, and epithelial cells, with high expression levels noted in heart, skeletal muscle, and kidney tissues. Additionally, PSR is extensively glycosylated, which may influence binding properties and interactions with other proteins. The conservation of PSR across species, as evidenced by significant homology to proteins found in Caenorhabditis elegans and Drosophila melanogaster, underscores PSR′s fundamental role in cellular processes throughout evolution.
