Datasheets
  • PSR Antibody (C-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against amino acids 1-300 of PSR of human origin
  • recommended for detection of PSR of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • See PSR (H-7): sc-28348 for PSR antibody conjugates, including AC, HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488, 594, 647, 680 and 790.
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP, m-IgG1 BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for PSR Antibody (C-1) for WB applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with PSR Antibody (C-1) (see ordering information below).

    SEE ALSO...

PSR Antibody (C-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects phosphatidylserine receptor (PSR) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PSR (C-1) antibody plays a crucial role in the recognition and clearance of apoptotic cells, as PSR monoclonal antibody (C-1) specifically binds to phosphatidylserine, which becomes exposed on the outer membrane of cells undergoing apoptosis. This interaction is vital for the phagocytosis of dying cells by immune cells like macrophages and dendritic cells, thereby maintaining tissue homeostasis and preventing inflammation. PSR is predominantly expressed on the surface of macrophages, fibroblasts, and epithelial cells, with particularly high levels found in heart, skeletal muscle, and kidney tissues. Notably, PSR includes extensive glycosylation, which is important for stability and function, as glycosylation can influence protein folding, receptor-ligand interactions, and immune recognition. Additionally, mammalian PSR shows significant homology to proteins found in Caenorhabditis elegans and Drosophila melanogaster, indicating that essential functions have been conserved throughout evolution.
