PSPC1 Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects PSPC1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PSPC1 antibody (G-7) is available as the non-conjugated form. PSPC1, or paraspeckle component 1, is a crucial 523 amino acid protein that plays a significant role in cellular processes by localizing to both the cytoplasm and the nuclear matrix, where PSPC1 is involved in the formation of paraspeckles—nuclear structures that sequester specific RNA molecules and proteins. This localization is vital for the regulation of gene expression, particularly in response to stress and during cellular differentiation. PSPC1 contains two RNA recognition motif domains, which facilitate PSPC1′s interaction with RNA and other proteins, including the ability to form heterodimers with p54/nrb, thereby influencing androgen receptor-mediated gene transcription activity, especially in Sertoli cell lines. The gene encoding PSPC1 is located on human chromosome 13, a region associated with several critical genes, including BRCA2 and RB1, and is implicated in various genetic disorders, such as Trisomy 13, which can lead to severe developmental issues. The presence of alternatively spliced isoforms, alpha and beta, further adds complexity to PSPC1′s function, as these isoforms are subject to DNA damage-dependent phosphorylation, likely mediated by ATR or ATM, highlighting PSPC1′s role in cellular response to DNA damage.
