PSMD4 Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PSMD4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-PSMD4 antibody (F-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PSMD4 plays a crucial role in the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, which is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis by regulating protein degradation. This pathway is vital for removing damaged or misfolded proteins, thus preventing cellular stress and potential disease states. PSMD4, also known as S5a, is involved in recognizing polyubiquitinated substrates, facilitating their entry into the 26S proteasome for degradation. PSMD4 is expressed in various tissues and is particularly important during specific developmental stages, where PSMD4 may contribute to the selective degradation of proteins that are critical for embryonic development. PSMD4′s ability to interact with other components of the proteasome, such as Rpn10D and Rpn10E, highlights PSMD4′s significance in both general proteolytic functions and specialized roles in early development, making PSMD4 a key player in cellular regulation and development.

I am using PSMD4 (F-6): sc-398033 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
