SEE ALSO...

PSMC4 Antibody (G-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects PSMC4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PSMC4 (G-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PSMC4, also known as 26S protease regulatory subunit 6B, plays a crucial role in ATP-dependent degradation of ubiquitinated proteins, which is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating various cellular processes, including cell cycle, apoptosis, and stress responses. PSMC4 functions as a key component of the 26S proteasome, a complex responsible for selective protein degradation, and proper function is vital for preventing accumulation of damaged or misfolded proteins that could lead to cellular dysfunction or disease. PSMC4 interacts with several regulatory proteins, including gankyrin, which is implicated in liver cancer, highlighting importance in both normal cellular function and disease states. Post-translational modifications of PSMC4, such as phosphorylation, further influence activity and interactions, making PSMC4 a significant target for research in cancer biology and therapeutic development.

Can PSMC4 (G-4): sc-166115 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. Yes, PSMC4 (G-4): sc-166115 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
