PSA/ACT Antibody (4G10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the PSA/ACT protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-PSA/ACT antibody (4G10) is available as the non-conjugated format. Prostate specific antigen (PSA), also known as gamma-seminoprotein, seminin, p30 antigen, semenogelase, and kallikrein 3 (KLK3), is a serine protease primarily produced in the prostate gland, where PSA plays a crucial role in the liquefaction of semen by hydrolyzing semenogelin I, a major protein in seminal fluid. This enzymatic activity is essential for fertility, as PSA allows sperm to swim freely after ejaculation. Elevated levels of PSA in the blood are often associated with prostate cancer, making PSA a vital biomarker for early detection and monitoring of the disease. Additionally, PSA has been found in other tissues, including accessory male sex glands and breast cancer, highlighting PSA′s potential relevance beyond prostate pathology. PSA/ACT (4G10) monoclonal antibody′s specific targeting ability makes PSA/ACT (4G10) antibody an invaluable tool for researchers studying prostate cancer and its associated mechanisms.
