PRX Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects peroxiredoxin (PRX) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PRX antibody (E-7) targets a crucial family of antioxidant proteins that play a significant role in cellular defense against reactive oxygen species (ROS), which can cause oxidative stress and damage to cellular components. PRX monoclonal antibody (E-7) recognizes proteins, including PRX I, II, III, IV, V, and VI, which are vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis by utilizing thioredoxin as an electron donor to neutralize ROS. PRX I, II, and III are often overexpressed in various cancers, including breast cancer, suggesting their involvement in tumorigenesis and progression. PRX I and II have been implicated in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer′s disease and Down syndrome, highlighting their importance in both cancer biology and neuroprotection. The distinct localization of PRX proteins, with PRX III and V found in mitochondria while others are distributed in the cytoplasm, further emphasizes their specialized functions in different cellular contexts.
