PRP19 Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PRP19 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PRP19 Antibody (G-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PRP19 protein plays a crucial role in the spliceosome, a large and complex molecular machine responsible for pre-mRNA splicing in eukaryotic cells. This process is vital for the removal of non-coding regions, known as introns, from pre-mRNA, allowing the remaining coding sequences, or exons, to be joined together to form mature mRNA, which is then translated into proteins. PRP19-associated complex is essential for the stable association of U5 and U6 snRNPs with the spliceosome following the release of U4, facilitating critical structural changes that enhance the interaction between U6 and the intron sequence. By understanding the function of PRP19 and its interactions within the spliceosome, researchers can gain insights into the regulation of gene expression and the potential implications of splicing errors in various diseases.
