    SEE ALSO...

Protein C Antibody (C-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Protein C of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Protein C antibody (C-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Protein C is a vitamin K-dependent plasma protein synthesized in the liver, consisting of two polypeptide chains, and plays a crucial role in blood coagulation regulation. Upon activation by thrombin bound to an endothelial surface receptor, Protein C cleaves and inactivates activated forms of coagulation Factors V and VIII, serving as a vital anti-coagulant that helps maintain hemostatic balance. Proper functioning of Protein C is essential, as deficiencies can lead to inherited thrombophilia, a condition that significantly increases venous thrombosis risk and complications such as habitual abortion. Normal concentrations of Protein C in human plasma range from approximately 1-3 ng/ml, while proenzyme concentration is around 3 µg/ml, highlighting Protein C′s importance in the coagulation cascade and overall vascular health.
