ProRS Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ProRS protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ProRS (A-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Prolyl-tRNA synthetase (ProRS) plays a crucial role in protein synthesis by ensuring accurate charging of tRNA with correct amino acids, which is vital for maintaining translation fidelity. ProRS is located in the cytoplasm, where ProRS catalyzes the attachment of proline to corresponding tRNA, thus facilitating proline incorporation into nascent polypeptide chains during protein synthesis. Proper localization of ProRS is essential, as proper localization ensures efficient and accurate aminoacylation, preventing errors that could lead to dysfunctional proteins. ProRS, also known as EPRS, EARS, PARS, QARS, QPRS, PIG32, or GLUPRORS, is a 1,512 amino acid protein characterized by three WHEP-TRS domains and belongs to both class-I and class-II aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase family. Through ATP utilization, ProRS catalyzes the conversion of L-glutamate and tRNA(Glu) to L-glutamyl-tRNA(Glu), as well as the conversion of L-proline and tRNA(Pro) to L-prolyl-tRNA(Pro), thereby playing a pivotal role in protein synthesis.

Can ProRS (A-2): sc-393505 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. Yes, ProRS (A-2): sc-393505 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
