PRMT7 Antibody (F-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects PRMT7 in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PRMT7 plays a crucial role in arginine methylation, an irreversible protein modification essential for numerous cellular functions such as signal transduction, RNA transport, and RNA splicing. PRMT7 is primarily localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm, where nuclear presence is vital for regulating gene expression and RNA processing, while cytoplasmic localization may influence protein interactions and signaling pathways. PRMT7 contains two methyltransferase domains, each with a putative S-adenosylmethionine-binding motif, and structural similarities to other PRMT family members, such as PRMT1 and PRMT5, suggest a conserved mechanism of action in methylation processes. Three splice variants of PRMT7 have been identified, indicating potential diverse functional roles in different cellular contexts. Moderate expression levels of PRMT7 are observed in adult brain and lung tissues, highlighting PRMT7′s importance in both neurological and respiratory functions.
