SEE ALSO...

PRMT7 Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PRMT7 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PRMT7 (E-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PRMT7 plays a crucial role in arginine methylation, an irreversible post-translational modification essential for various cellular functions, including signal transduction, RNA transport, and RNA splicing. This modification is catalyzed by arginine methyltransferases like PRMT7, which utilizes S-adenosylmethionine as the methyl donor. PRMT7 contains two methyltransferase domains, each featuring a putative S-adenosylmethionine-binding motif, with the N-terminal domain closely resembling the catalytic core of PRMT5 and the C-terminal domain showing similarity to PRMT1. Three splice variants of PRMT7 have been identified, indicating a potential for diverse functional roles. PRMT7 is predominantly localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm, with moderate expression levels observed in adult brain and lung tissues, highlighting its importance in cellular processes and potential implications in various biological contexts.
