PRMT1 Antibody (B-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PRMT1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PRMT1 Antibody (B-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PRMT1, a member of the type 1 protein arginine N-methyltransferase family, plays a crucial role in post-translational modification of RNA-binding proteins, essential for regulating gene expression and RNA processing. Located predominantly in the nucleus, PRMT1 is involved in methylation of arginine residues on target proteins, influencing function and interactions. Alternative mRNA splicing of the PRMT gene results in three isoforms of PRMT1, all retaining enzymatic activity, underscoring the complexity and versatility in various biological contexts. PRMT8, a distinct member of the type 1 PRMT family, exhibits tissue-specific expression and localizes to the plasma membrane, particularly in the brain, where PRMT8 may play a role in neuronal differentiation. PRMT8′s close relationship with PRMT1, including the ability to heterodimerize and share substrate preferences, emphasizes the interconnectedness in cellular signaling pathways.
