PREP Antibody (C-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PREP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PREP antibody (C-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PREP protein, also known as prolyl endopeptidase or PEP, is a 710 amino acid enzyme that resides in the cytoplasm and is classified within the peptidase S9A family. PREP protein plays a crucial role in the cleavage of peptide bonds on the C-terminal side of prolyl residues, specifically within proteins that are approximately 30 amino acids long. PREP enzymatic activity is vital for the processing of neuropeptides and hormones, which are essential for various signaling and regulatory pathways throughout the body. PREP gene is located on human chromosome 6, a region implicated in several health conditions, including early onset intestinal cancer and various neurodegenerative disorders. PREP interactions with other proteins can influence the balance of neuropeptide signaling, highlighting its importance in maintaining physiological homeostasis and potential role in disease mechanisms.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with PREP (C-12): sc-365416?

Asked by: Cweed
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
