PRDM5 Antibody (A-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PRDM5 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PRDM5 Antibody (A-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PRDM5 plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression and is involved in cellular processes such as differentiation and apoptosis, making PRDM5 significant in cancer biology. PRDM5 is located in the nucleus, where PRDM5 functions as a transcriptional regulator, influencing the expression of genes associated with tumor suppression. Nuclear localization allows PRDM5 to interact with other nuclear proteins and DNA, thereby modulating pathways that can prevent tumorigenesis. PRDM5 has been linked to the regulation of genes silenced in various cancers, including breast, ovarian, and liver cancers, highlighting PRDM5′s potential as a therapeutic target. The gene encoding PRDM5, consisting of 630 amino acids and featuring a PR domain followed by 16 zinc finger motifs, is mapped to human chromosome 4q27, a region associated with several tumor suppressor genes. PRDM5′s ability to induce G2/M arrest and apoptosis in tumor cells upon adenoviral expression further underscores PRDM5′s importance in cancer research and potential therapeutic applications.
