SEE ALSO...

PRAK Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PRAK protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PRAK (A-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PRAK, also known as p38-regulated/activated kinase or mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK)-activated protein kinase (MAPKAPK)-5, is a serine/threonine kinase that is widely expressed and plays a crucial role in cellular responses to stress. PRAK is primarily regulated by p38α and p38β MAP kinases, which activate PRAK in response to stress-related extracellular stimuli such as ultraviolet light, oxidative stress, and proinflammatory cytokines. PRAK phosphorylation is essential for function, as PRAK has been shown to specifically phosphorylate heat shock protein 27 (HSP27) in vitro, indicating involvement in stress-induced phosphorylation of small heat shock proteins in vivo. Understanding PRAK′s role in cellular stress responses is vital, as PRAK may contribute to the development of therapeutic strategies targeting stress-related diseases.
