PR3 Antibody (D-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects PR3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PR3 (D-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PR3 protein, also known as Proteinase 3, plays a crucial role in the immune response, particularly in neutrophil function. PR3 functions as a serine protease primarily stored in neutrophil azurophil granules and participates in degrading extracellular matrix components, such as elastin, which maintains tissue integrity during inflammatory responses. PR3′s ability to cleave elastin contributes to inflammation resolution and has implications in conditions like Wegener granulomatosis, where the immune system mistakenly targets the body′s own tissues. PR3 is critical for human leukemia cell proliferation and is expressed specifically in immature myeloid cells, making PR3 a G-CSF-responsive protein essential for factor-independent growth. PR3 genes, along with closely related proteins Neutrophil Elastase and azurocidin, are clustered on human chromosome 19′s short arm, highlighting their coordinated expression during neutrophil differentiation.
