PPARγ Antibody (B-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects PPARγ in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PPARγ (B-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) plays a crucial role in regulating adipocyte differentiation and lipid metabolism, making PPARγ essential for maintaining energy homeostasis and metabolic health. Located primarily in the nucleus, PPARγ functions as a transcription factor that forms heterodimers with retinoid X receptors (RXRs) to regulate the expression of genes involved in insulin sensitivity and inflammation. This regulation is particularly important in the context of metabolic disorders, as PPARγ is implicated in conditions such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, PPARγ is known to interact with various ligands, including prostanoids and thiazolidinediones, which can activate transcriptional activity, thereby influencing adipocyte function and inflammatory responses. Notably, the Pro12Ala polymorphism in the PPARγ2 gene has been associated with altered transactivation activity and may impact the immune response to oxidized low-density lipoprotein, linking PPARγ to the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes and abdominal obesity.
