SEE ALSO...

PPAN Antibody (C-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PPAN protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PPAN (C-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PPAN protein, also known as peter pan homolog or Ssf-1 (suppressor of SWI4 1 homolog), is a 473 amino acid protein characterized by one Brix domain and two alternatively spliced isoforms. PPAN is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 19p13.2 and predominantly localizes in the nucleus, with expression levels highest in heart, skeletal muscle, kidney, and liver tissues. PPAN plays a crucial role in cellular processes, functioning as a putative tumor suppressor in heart failure cells and nontransformed revertants of HeLa cells. PPAN expression is upregulated in myeloid leukemia cells in response to granulocyte-colony stimulating factor and dibutyryl-cAMP, indicating potential involvement in cell growth regulation. Two characteristic CpG islands upstream of PPAN exons suggest multiple promoter regions, which could be significant for regulation and expression in various cellular contexts.
