Datasheets
  • PKC Antibody (MC5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a κ, cited in 103 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • epitope mapping within the hinge region (residues 292-317) of PKC of bovine origin
  • Anti-PKC Antibody (MC5) is recommended for detection of PKC α, PKC β and PKC γ of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and IHC(P); also reactive with additional species, including bovine
  • Anti-PKC Antibody (MC5) is available conjugated to agarose for IP; HRP for WB, IHC(P) and ELISA; and to either phycoerythrin or FITC for IF, IHC(P) and FCM
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 488, Alexa Fluor® 546, Alexa Fluor® 594 or Alexa Fluor® 647 for WB (RGB), IF, IHC(P) and FCM, and for use with RGB fluorescent imaging systems, such as iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 680 or Alexa Fluor® 790 for WB (NIR), IF and FCM; for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR®Odyssey®, iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP, m-IgG2a BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for PKC Antibody (MC5) for WB and IHC(P) applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with PKC Antibody (MC5) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

PKC Antibody (MC5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PKC in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. PKC (MC5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The protein kinase C (PKC) family is crucial for regulating a wide array of cellular functions, including cell growth, differentiation, gene expression, hormone secretion, and membrane dynamics. PKC proteins are primarily located in the cytoplasm and translocate to the cell membrane upon activation, which is vital for their role in signal transduction pathways. This translocation is essential for the activation of downstream signaling cascades that influence various physiological processes. PKC isoforms are activated by diacylglycerols and tumor-promoting phorbol esters, and they can be classified into conventional and novel isoforms, each exhibiting distinct regulatory mechanisms and tissue-specific expression patterns. Understanding the localization and activation of PKC is fundamental for elucidating its role in health and disease, particularly in cancer and other pathologies where signaling pathways are disrupted.
