PKAγ cat Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PKAγ catalytic subunit of mouse, rat, human, and mink origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PKAγ cat (A-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PKAγ plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways as a key component of the cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA) complex, which is activated by the second messenger cyclic AMP (cAMP). Upon binding of cAMP to the regulatory subunits of the PKA holoenzyme, active catalytic subunits are released, leading to phosphorylation of various target proteins, including transcription factors. PKAγ cat participates in phosphorylating cAMP response element binding protein (CREB) at Serine 133, essential for transcriptional activation of genes responsive to cAMP signaling. This phosphorylation event facilitates recruitment of transcriptional machinery, linking PKA activity to gene expression regulation, vital for processes such as cell proliferation, metabolism, and differentiation. Distinct structural features of PKAγ, including unique amino acid sequence and regulatory mechanisms, underscore PKAγ′s importance in mediating diverse physiological responses to extracellular signals.
