PKAα/β/γ cat Antibody (G-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody designed to detect the catalytic subunits alpha, beta, and gamma of protein kinase A (PKA) across multiple species, including mouse, rat, human, equine, canine, bovine, and porcine, through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PKAα/β/γ cat monoclonal antibody (G-6) is raised against a precise epitope encompassing amino acids 231-286 near the C-terminus of the human PKAα catalytic subunit, ensuring selective and accurate recognition of PKAα, PKAβ, and PKAγ isoforms. Protein kinase A is a crucial cAMP-dependent enzyme that plays a vital role in regulating diverse cellular functions, including cell proliferation, ion transport, metabolism, and gene transcription. Structurally, PKA exists as a tetrameric holoenzyme composed of two regulatory and two catalytic subunits. Upon binding of the second messenger cyclic AMP (cAMP) to the regulatory subunits, the catalytic subunits are released and translocate to specific locations within the cell, such as the cytoplasm and nucleus. This translocation is essential for PKA′s function, as PKA catalytic subunits phosphorylate target proteins in different cellular compartments, thereby modulating various signaling pathways. In the nucleus, active PKA phosphorylates the cAMP response element-binding protein (CREB) on Serine 133, facilitating the recruitment of transcription factors like TFIIB and TBP1 to initiate gene transcription. The precise localization of PKA catalytic subunits is critical for the spatial and temporal regulation of these signaling events, ensuring that cellular responses are appropriately coordinated and executed. Anti-PKAα/β/γ cat antibody (G-6) enables researchers to effectively study the dynamic localization and functional interactions of PKA within cells, providing valuable insights into PKA′s role in both normal physiological processes and various pathological conditions.
