SEE ALSO...

PIWIL2 Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PIWIL2 protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PIWIL2 (D-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PIWIL2, also known as cancer/testis antigen 80 (CT80) and HILI, is a 973 amino acid member of the argonaute family, characterized by the presence of one PAZ domain and one PIWI domain. PIWIL2 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and is predominantly expressed in adult testis and various tumors, highlighting significance in reproductive biology and oncology. PIWIL2 plays a crucial role in regulating spermatogenesis and production of primordial germ cells, as well as in meiotic differentiation of spermatocytes and self-renewal of spermatogonial stem cells. PIWIL2 is involved in modulating expression of genes critical for stem cell proliferation, energy metabolism, cell-cell interactions, and germ cell differentiation, including PDGFR-β, Glut1, Integrin α6, GJA7, THY-1, CD9, and STRA8. PIWIL2 may act as a regulatory factor in Stat3/Bcl-xS/L/CCND1 signaling pathway, and PIWIL2 repression has been shown to inhibit tumor cell growth, indicating potential role as an oncogene by promoting proliferation and inhibiting apoptosis in cancerous cells.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-377347 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
