    SEE ALSO...

PIPPIN Antibody (G-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PIPPIN protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PIPPIN (G-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PIPPIN protein, also known as CSDC2 (cold shock domain containing C2, RNA binding), is a member of the Y-box protein family, which consists of highly conserved RNA-binding transcriptional regulators. Predominantly expressed in brain cells, PIPPIN is localized in both the nucleus and cytoplasm, where PIPPIN plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression. PIPPIN features two RNA-binding motifs, PIP1 and PIP2, along with a cold shock domain, which are essential for function as a nucleic acid binding regulatory factor. Notably, PIPPIN is involved in brain maturation by binding to the 3′-untranslated regions of mRNAs encoding Histone H1 and Histone H3.3, a process that requires coordinated action of all PIPPIN domains. Additionally, PIPPIN can undergo sumoylation in a thyroid hormone (T3)-dependent manner, indicating that post-translational modifications may influence regulatory role in protein synthesis in response to extracellular signals.
