SEE ALSO...

PIPK I α Antibody (D-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects PIPK I alpha protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PIPK I α (D-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate-5-kinase (PIPK) family plays a crucial role in synthesizing phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate, a key lipid that regulates essential cellular processes such as cell proliferation, survival, membrane trafficking, and cytoskeletal organization. Within this family, PIPK I α, along with isoforms PIPK I β and PIPK I γ, phosphorylates phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate at the 5-hydroxyl position, which is vital for enzymatic activity and cellular localization. PIPK I α shows predominant expression in brain tissue, highlighting importance in neural functions and signaling pathways. The distinct activation loop present in PIPK family members determines substrate specificity and subcellular targeting, making these proteins integral to various signaling cascades. Understanding PIPK I α and its interactions can provide insights into contributions to cellular dynamics and potential implications in neurobiology and disease.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-377021 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
