PINX1 Antibody (D-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects PINX1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PINX1 (D-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PINX1, also known as LPTL or LPTS (liver-related putative tumor suppressor), plays a crucial role in telomere regulation and is primarily localized in nucleoli and telomere speckles. PINX1 contains a G-patch domain and a telomeric inhibiting domain (TID) at its C-terminus, which is essential for interaction with telomere protein TRF1 and telomerase reverse transcriptase TERT. The TID domain specifically binds to TERT, inhibiting TERT activity and thereby regulating telomerase function. This inhibition is vital as overexpression of PINX1 can lead to shortened telomeres, indicating PINX1′s role as a tumor suppressor by preventing excessive cell proliferation. Furthermore, PINX1 depletion significantly enhances telomerase activity, which may contribute to the tumorigenicity of cancer cells. In addition to telomere maintenance, PINX1 is also involved in the maturation of nucleolar RNA, highlighting PINX1′s multifaceted functions within the cell.
