PINX1 Antibody (A-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a light chain antibody that detects PINX1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PINX1, also known as LPTL or LPTS, is a crucial protein that plays a significant role in telomere regulation and tumor suppression. PINX1 is ubiquitously expressed and primarily localizes to nucleoli and telomere speckles, where PINX1 contains a G-patch domain and a telomeric inhibiting domain (TID) at its C-terminus. The TID domain specifically interacts with telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT), inhibiting TERT activity and regulating telomerase function. This inhibition is vital because PINX1 overexpression can lead to shortened telomeres, which further supports PINX1′s role in controlling telomerase activity. Conversely, PINX1 depletion significantly enhances telomerase activity, potentially contributing to the tumorigenicity of cancer cells. PINX1 functions as a tumor suppressor that not only inhibits cell proliferation but is also involved in nucleolar RNA maturation, highlighting PINX1′s multifaceted role in cellular processes.
