PICK1 Antibody (B-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects PICK1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PICK1, or protein interacting with C kinase 1, is a PDZ-domain containing protein predominantly located in the perinuclear region of cells, where PICK1 plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and synaptic transmission. The localization of PICK1 is significant as PICK1 allows for the precise regulation of interactions with other proteins, such as the α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-isoxazole-4-propionic acid (AMPA) receptor, which is essential for excitatory synaptic transmission. By anchoring AMPA receptors at specific synapses, PICK1 modulates synaptic strength and plasticity, processes that are vital for learning and memory. Additionally, PICK1 is phosphorylated in response to protein kinase C alpha (PKCα) activation, which is critical for the regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation. The unique PDZ-binding domain of PKCα, absent in other PKC isoforms, facilitates the interaction with PICK1, highlighting PICK1′s importance in various signaling pathways. Anti-PICK1 antibody (B-6) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying these complex cellular mechanisms and their implications in neurobiology and other fields.
