PICK1 Antibody (A-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a light chain antibody that detects PICK1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PICK1, or protein interacting with C kinase 1, is a PDZ-domain containing protein predominantly located in the perinuclear region of cells, where PICK1 plays a crucial role in synaptic transmission and cellular signaling. The localization of PICK1 allows for precise regulation of interactions with other proteins, such as the α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-isoxazole-4-propionic acid (AMPA) receptor, which is essential for excitatory synaptic transmission. By anchoring AMPA receptors at specific synapses, PICK1 modulates synaptic strength and plasticity, processes vital for learning and memory. Furthermore, PICK1 is phosphorylated in response to protein kinase C alpha (PKCα) activation, highlighting PICK1′s involvement in signaling pathways that regulate cell proliferation and differentiation. The unique PDZ-binding domain of PKCα, which is absent in other PKC isoforms, allows for specific interactions with PICK1, emphasizing PICK1′s importance in cellular communication and function. Anti-PICK1 antibody (A-8) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying these critical processes in various biological contexts.
